The founders

Anthony Shilton
Anthony Shilton
Chairman

Anthony was interim CEO of Hearables 3D from January 2020. He moved into the executive chair role in mid-2021, when Iain McLeod took over as chief executive. His background is in audio signal processing, across Dynamic Hearing, Wolfson Microelectronics and Cirrus Logic Australia, all run out of Melbourne. He also founded Signalarity Research Labs, a small Melbourne team working on wearables.

Iain McLeod
Iain McLeod
Co-Founder

Iain was one of three people who started Level Four Software in Edinburgh in 1994. It built simulation tools banks used to test ATM and mobile systems, and reached fifty staff. He moved to Copenhagen, spent twelve years running 3Shape's audio business, then opened up audiology and dental for the 3D printer maker Formlabs. He became CEO of H3D in 2021. Custom-fit devices, as he put it then, had been made for decades using the same tools, the same way.

Phil Kinsella
Phil Kinsella
Co-Founder

Phil is co-founder and chief technology officer at H3D, which grew out of his PhD research at Swinburne University. He taught Swinburne's masters unit on 3D scanning and printing in 2016. He also works as a mechanical engineer at OptoTech, on laser cleaning and optical inspection components.

Why this team

The core IP came out of Phil's doctorate. Iain and Anthony have spent decades selling into the exact hearing labs and dental clinics H3D serves. A real invention paired with a team that already knows the buyers by name.
